GIFT GUIDE FOR THE LITTLE GIRL

It’s time to start thinking about all of the magical moments this holiday season and holiday gift giving. Lexi’s birthday is also in December which makes her one of the hardest people for me to shop for. Last year she didn’t start to really say what she wanted for Christmas until after her birthday which makes shopping early for her hard. This year she’s given a few ideas (and has said them more than once so I’m confident they are things she actually wants and will use). Here are a few things currently on my radar for Lexi for Christmas or her birthday. I hope it helps give you ideas for the little girls in your life.

Lexi has been asking for a piggy bank. I think she would really like this star bank. Plus it’s neutral enough that it can grow with her and her room for a number of years.
Lexi really loves her dolls. I know we are growing near the end of this phase of her childhood (someone pass the tissues) I think she would love this one. Although she did just find a couple of dolls in stores that she really liked so we will see which one makes it under the tree.
She’s been asking for an anywhere chair for a long time now. She really wants a reading nook in her room, how can you say no to that?
She really loves jewelry and accessories. I picked these up on major sale awhile back and have them stashed for either her birthday or Christmas.
She loves doing puzzles and needs some that are a bit harder than what we have. I think she would really like this one.
Her friend got this karaoke microphone for her birthday recently and Lexi loved it and asked for one as well.
Lexi has outgrown her bike and asked for a new one. I think this one is super cute.
Another thing she’s outgrown and has been asking to have replaced, rain boots.

MAMA STYLE: SWIM FAVORITES

We’re (finally) starting to get a taste of spring weather, spring break is right around the corner and then it’s full steam ahead to summer and lots of pool time and this mama needs a new swimsuit or two. I absolutely loved my suit from last year but by the end of the season it had seen better days and needs replacing badly. I’ve been on the hunt for a new suit or two and found some that I’m really loving.

Swimsuits and cover ups are worn daily around here when the weather warms up so having a couple on rotation is a must have in my spring and summer wardrobe. After having worn a black suit for the last couple of years, I’ve forgotten how much I like a swimsuit in a fun color! Here are a few current favorites.

FAVORITE HOLIDAY PAJAMAS FOR SIBLINGS

Since the internet has pretty much decided to skip over November and head straight into Christmas I thought I’d follow suit and share my favorite holiday pajamas for siblings today. The best holiday pajamas sell out pretty quickly, so it’s best to be prepared especially if you want them for something specific like holiday card photos or The Polar Express train ride.

My love for matching holiday pajamas runs deep. This picture is from our Christmas card photos a few years ago and still one of my favorites. You can see more of them here.

Dylan has officially outgrown the toddler department which makes finding coordinating pajamas a little bit harder but a couple of my favorites for matching or coordinating pajamas didn’t disappoint and brought them back again this year.1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

If you want to do family pajamas, I really like 2-5 because they tend to be staple prints brought back year after year. You can hand down the kids pajamas to younger siblings and not have to buy new adult pajamas every year. I keep saying we will do family pajamas and never have, maybe this year…

WISH LIST: AMERICAN EAGLE

I recently popped into American Eagle to try on a couple of things I’ve had my eye on for fall and winter. It’s been awhile since I’ve shopped there but it seems like it’s pretty popular with the mom crowd these days so I wanted to check it out for myself. I used to LOVE AE back in the day (eek, that makes me feel really old) but wasn’t sure if I could pull it off anymore. I was pleased to find a few things I really loved and have my eye on for fall and winter.

If I would have known that the weather was going to change pretty drastically overnight, I would have brought a couple of these home with me. It was SO cold (for us anyway) early last week that these would have been perfect to have in my closet.

I tried all of these on in store, with the exception of number five because my store didn’t have it in stock. The tops were all SO soft and had plenty of length, something I was worried about. The jeans fit really well and were incredibly comfortable. I could easily wear them all day and not feel like I had jeans on, which is a huge win in my book. Add booties or slip on sneakers to any of these outfits and you’re set for casual errands, lunch with girlfriends or dinner with the family. I love pieces that make it easy to look put together but are also incredibly comfortable. These are those pieces!

WISH LIST FOR MAMA

Happy Wednesday Friends! Or in Lexi’s world, the day before gymnastics. She’s been asking to be signed up for gymnastics for the last few months and I had been putting it off until we had Dylan’s hockey schedule for the summer. She finally had her first class last week and she couldn’t love it more! Her teacher was impressed with how well she did having never done gymnastics before and the pep never left her step for the whole hour. She’s been SO excited to go back and is counting down the days to Thursday, otherwise known as gymnastics day!

I’ve been trying really hard to up my style game this spring (more on that another time) and will be sharing more mama fashion here on on the blog. So I thought I’d kick it off with this fun wish list for a few fun summer pieces for mama.

I’ve been trying really hard to break out of my black t-shirt rut and really love these Madewell shirts. They come in a handful of colors, they fit really well and look super cute and put together with both jeans and shorts. A new staple in my closet for sure. I love this blue and white stripe for summer! It’s so cute with both denim and white denim, a new favorite!

I always love a fun swim cover-up and these pom-poms add just the right amount of fun to this otherwise classic cover up. Cover-ups are a place in my wardrobe I like to add a little more fun than I would in my regular clothing.

I really need new pajamas and this cute cherry set is perfect for summer! I really like that they are cute enough to wear around the house without being self-conscious that you’re in pajamas.

The double disk earrings are a fun change from traditional hoops or studs and go with so many things this summer. They also some in gold and rose gold.

I really love this bag! The color is the perfect golden brown, it has a cross body strap and the cinched top gives it a little more interest. This is the medium size, it also comes in a larger size and in black.
