PLAY! BY SEPHORA – FEBRUARY 2017

I recently received my second Play! by Sephora box and I like the contents of this box a little bit more than the January box.  Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription beauty box.  For ten dollars, you receive five deluxe samples of beauty products sold at Sephora as well as a perfume sample and card to redeem in Sephora stores for 50 extra beauty insider points with any in-store purchase.

This month’s theme was “The Soft Side” – make a radiant understatement.  This theme is perfect for me and my current daily makeup routine which is admittedly pretty simple these days.

Here’s what was in my box and what the Sephora info sheet that’s included with the box has to say about each.  I’ve yet to try them out and will let you know what I think soon!

NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Bound – A nude-pink, stay-stay-all day liquid lipstick that applies easily and leaves a semi-matte finish with a silky feel.  I can’t decide how I feel about matte lips on myself so I am excited to try out this lip glide in a color I would have been drawn to in the store.

Too Faced Lip Injections Glossy in Milkshake – Sheer tinted gloss uses a botanical-infused formula to visibly plump lips instantly while also hydrating and softening over time.  I love a sheer lip gloss and have been loving the Buxom glosses lately which are also a plumping formula so hopefully this one is just as good.

Sephora Lashcraft Length & Volume Mascara – A jet-black volumizing mascara with an innovative flat paddle-shaped wand to lengthen and lift lashes.  They say this formula washes away with just water.  I’m excited to give it a try to see if it stays without smudging but washes away easily.  If it does, I may just have found my new favorite mascara.

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream – A luminous eye cream infused with coffee beans, ginseng, and magnolia extract to visibly brighten and depuff the undereye area.  I love Origins products but this is one I haven’t tried so I’m happy to have a sample of this eye cream.

Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer – A lightweight, oil-free moisturizer-meets-primer instantly blurs imperfections while providing all-day hydration for a silky, soft-focus finish.  This is another one I’m excited to try.  They also say you can use it over your make up for quick fixes during the day – simply pat into areas that need extra shine control and hydration.

Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence perfume sample – Effervescent, floral, and bright, this sparkling, champagne-doused scent is the embodiment of luxury and glamour.  To be honest, I could do without the perfume samples so I am simply going to tell you what the Sephora card and let you try it for yourself if you’re interested.

Overall, I am pretty happy with this box.  Receiving two lip products is right up my alley.  I love trying lip products but rarely finish them before moving onto the next so deluxe sample sizes are perfect for me.  They are also great to travel with without taking up much room in a TSA approved bag for liquids.
