We are finally starting to have cooler mornings and evenings but still firmly stuck in summer weather during the day, I hope we can break out some fall clothes around here soon.  There are so many cute pieces that I would love to add to Alexis’ closet this fall.  A couple of weeks ago I posted about my current favorite color combination, mustard yellow and denim, you can read about it here.  In case that isn’t your thing, here are some other pieces that are perfect for fall and winter.

BIKINI BABY

We spent last week playing in the pool and building sandcastles in Maui.  When we booked our trip, I knew Alexis would be about the age I was on my first trip to Hawaii and I wanted to get a few photos of her in my very first bikini, a red Hawaiian bikini purchased in Kauai in 1983.  So, 31 years later, here is my baby in my itsy bitsy teeny weeny little red Hawaiian bikini.  While I wore it as an actual suit back in 1983, she only wore it for a few minutes for me to get these pictures, then it was back to her rash guard and bikini bottoms.  Baby girl, you were a good sport, we love you.  Check back next week for more of our Hawaiian vacation.

FRIDAY 15 – HALLOWEEN

This post contains affiliate links.  That means if you click on a link and make a purchase from the site, I will earn a small commission from the sale.

With October just around the corner, it is time to get into the Halloween spirit. Dylan wants to be a firefighter for Halloween, go figure! And if he gets his way, Alexis will be his fire dog.  Before that request came to light, I was thinking more along the lines of something girly like these for her:

Untitled-1

Ladybug, Owl, and Strawberry are all from Carters.  Tutu Ladybug and Lamb are from PBK.

To keep the little ones in the spirit all month long, how cute are these?

Untitled-3

Headbands – CharlieCocos, tutu outfit – Carters, tee – Gap, boy pajamas – Gap, girl pajamas – Janie and Jack

I love that Dyl is so into holidays now and am being sure to take advantage of it with some new Halloween traditions and décor.  I love these for everyday in October as well as a little Halloween party!

Untitled-2

Trick or Treat banner – PBK, skeleton door sign – PBK, mummy pillow – Pottery Barn, bat bowls, haunted house tumbler, raven straws, pumpkin plate – Crate and Barrel,

Who knows, we may just have a fireman and his fire dog come Halloween!

LOVE

A couple of days before Alexis turned nine months old, we set out in search of the love sign.  I heard about our local love sign years ago when we were getting married, but have never been to see it until now.  A few pictures of our quickly growing baby girl was a very fitting first visit.  I love these photos because they capture our morning so perfectly – wanting to crawl off of the blanket but not sure about the still wet morning grass, chewing on her fingers as part of the teething process, and a visit from her “baby”, the glow worm, to keep her happy.  We love you sweet girl and we will be back to this cute park real soon.

Mustard yellow and denim or chambray is quickly becoming one of my favorite combinations for fall.  I love all of the mustard yellow pieces out now for little girls.  Although we are still firmly planted in summer weather and will be for at least another month, when it cools off, Alexis will be sporting some chambray and yellow for sure.  I cannot get enough of it!  Here are a few of my current favorite pieces for little girls.

  1. A cute printed top paired with jeans, leggings or the cargo pants.  Gap Kids
  2. I love this chambray dress!  You can wear it so many ways.  It would be so cute with some sneakers or boots and a hat or headband.  Gap Kids
  3. This little sweater pairs perfectly with number 2 or 15.  Old Navy has a great option in store, but mustard yellow is sold out online.  Gap Kids, Old Navy
  4. Neither denim nor yellow, these cargo pants are a good alternative for some pants with the perfect chambray top.  Gap Kids
  5. A cute little headband is the perfect finishing touch for any of these outfits.  Charlie Cocos
  6. This top has so many possibilities.  Add some leggings or cargo pants with moccasins or ballet flats and you have the perfect outfit for fall.  Gap Kids
  7. This may be my favorite of all.  With her red hair and fair complexion, this hat is sure to look so cute!  Gap Kids – in stores
  8. A ribbed mustard tee is perfect under number 11 and paired with number 4.  Peek
  9. Denim skinny jeans are a staple in Alexis’ wardrobe.  She had some last year and I cannot wait for it to be jean weather again!  Gap Kids

  11. A classic denim jacket is always a good idea.  Peek
  12. Mustard yellow ballet flats.  Perfect for fall in so many ways!  Gap Kids
