12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS DAY SIX

Happy Monday! I hope you had a nice weekend. We celebrated Lexi’s birthday all weekend long, more on that real soon, but first day six of the 12 days of Christmas.  I’ve been majorly slacking and need to get this finished up!  There’s still so much cuteness to share but Christmas is fast approaching, hard to believe it’s less than 3 weeks away!  12 days of christmas: day 6tee | hat (check Gap stores, sold out online) | jeans | shoes

Peek kids always has our favorite tee’s for both Dylan and Lex and they didn’t disappoint with this cute reindeer tee for girls.  Be sure to check out the back, I love the deer silhouette.  I wish Peek would have made a boy version of this shirt; I would have had them twinning without a second thought.

This is another easy everyday outfit that both Lex and I love, which is a big deal now that she has an opinion on what she wears.  A cute tee, pull on jeans (perfect for potty training), comfy gold shoes and the cutest red hat.  Grab a comfy sweatshirt or jacket and your little lady is ready for anything all month long.  Wouldn’t this be the cutest for cookie decorating or a preschool party?

Can we talk about these jeans for a second?  I didn’t think I would be all about the elastic waist jeans and never thought I would be singing their praises, that’s for sure.  But they are the best invention ever, or for three year olds anyway!  I’m fully onboard with the pull on denim for Lex this winter.  We have the blue jeans pictured above as well as this black distressed pair.  Since there are no buttons or zippers to mess with, she can wear jeans and use the potty on her own.  Major win in my book.

I’m off to order Christmas cards.  Here’s to hoping they get to their recipient prior to Christmas.  Clearly the 12 days of Christmas isn’t the only thing I am behind on.

If you missed any of the prior days, you can check them out here:

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS: DAY FIVE

This post contains a referral link. That means if you click on a link and make a purchase from the site, I will points toward future June and January purchases.

It’s day five of the 12 days of Christmas and a day I’ve been waiting for, June and January poppy bow swing dress release day!

June and January is a children’s clothing line that has the perfect not so basic basics for babies and kids (currently size 4t and under).  Lex lives in her swing dresses.  And that’s not an exaggeration.  She wore a swing dress at least 4 days per week all summer and fall long.  She loves twirling in them and I love them because they are cute, come in a variety of fun colors and because everything they make mixes and matches.  You literally cannot go wrong.  And today, our beloved swing dress, currently sold in solids only, is being released in the most fun poppy bow print for the holidays!

It’s perfect for Christmas, Valentine’s Day and every other day of the year!12 days of christmas: day 5dress| tights | socks

I wanted to show you how versatile this cute dress can be so I showed it with three different colors of June and January tights as well as a pair of their knee high striped socks.  Add a cardigan and you have a unique look that’s perfect for any holiday get together or for meeting Santa!

Two of my favorite combinations are: a mint cardigan and teal tights and a wasabi cardigan and mint tights or knee highs.  Add either a pom pom beanie or bow clip in another color for extra fun.

If you are new to June and January, save $10 off your first purchase of $50 or more here (referral link).

It’s day four of the 12 days of Christmas.  If you need to catch up you can see earlier days here:

12 days of Christmas: day fourbows | boots | dress

A month or so ago I saw this dress while browsing the gap website looking for jeans and other staples for Lex for fall and winter and fell in love.  It’s even cuter on than it is in the picture.  It’s perfect for any holiday event without screaming Christmas which means it can be worn all winter long which is a huge plus in my book.  We had the moto boots last year and have them again this year.  They are adorable with dresses and pants alike and held up really well.  Since I like to think Lex will keep a bow on her head for longer than 3.2 seconds, this pigtail set would be the absolute cutest paired with this dress.

P.S. – A little birdie told me the dress from day two will be restocked on December 2nd but be quick, it’s sure to sell out again.

THANKFUL FOR THESE TWO

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are enjoying your day with family and friends. We have a pretty low key weekend planned.

Since it’s the season of family photos and I’ve never shared these I thought it would be kind of fun to do a throwback Thursday and share some photos we had taken as part of Lex’s one year pictures.  It’s hard to believe that was two years ago already!

Like many moms, I had been dreaming of the perfect first birthday pictures for Lex. However, as we got closer to the session, it was pretty clear to me that we weren’t going to get the perfect smash cake in tutu shots I was dreaming of and had to come up with something else.

Lex wasn’t always the most cooperative person to photograph when it came to professional pics. If you missed her nine month and one year sessions (yes we did one year twice if that tells you anything), you and see them here and here. Spoiler alert, crying is a theme in both.

A few days before her (first) one year pictures, I emailed our photographer Marnee and asked how she felt about me brining some props – a cozy coupe and a small tree and lucky for me, she was on board right away.  I love these pictures and am so thankful to call these two mine.

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS: DAY THREE

It’s day three of the 12 days of Christmas and it’s pajama party day!12 days of Christmas: day threetop row: one | two | three| four

bottom row: one | two | three

I’m a sucker for kids in pajamas.  They all look so stinking cute in them and holiday pj’s are my favorite.  Lex and I recently picked up some holiday pajamas for her and Dylan.  They were both so excited to wear their new pj’s that night.  I love that the holiday pajamas this year have more of a winter theme so they can wear them all winter long.

Lex loves that there are so many unisex pairs so she can match Dylan.  She seriously LOVED matching him last year and got so excited anytime he wore red pajamas that she would pull out her ho ho ho pajamas to “match”.  They didn’t match since he was wearing fire truck pj’s but to her, they were close enough and matching is the way to her heart.

You can find day one here and day two here.
