SUMMER BUCKET LIST

We’ve never been a bucket list kind of family but I thought it might be fun for the kids (and us) to do one this summer. And because it’s what all of the mom bloggers do, so why not? Let’s jump on the summer bucket list band wagon.

Summer in Arizona is HOT. Really hot. In addition to some of the more traditional summer activities, we also have to find fun ways to beat the heat indoors.  Here’s our 2018 summer bucket list:summer bucket list

Some of these are things we will do a million times, like going swimming.  Others are a little (okay a lot harder) like getting ice cream from an ice cream truck.  This one is really a hail mary since we don’t have ice cream trucks here (such a shame).  I’m really hoping there will be one while we are in Michigan this summer.  I’ll be sure  to have a few dollars ready just in case!  Another one I will be really impressed if we can check off is the dive-in movie nights.  I really think this would be so fun and memorable for the kids, but have to figure out how to safely project a movie outside by the pool.  If you have any suggestions, let me know!

What’s on your summer bucket list?  I’ve created a blank summer bucket list printable that you can get here in case you want to make one for your family as well.

WISH LIST FOR MAMA

Happy Wednesday Friends! Or in Lexi’s world, the day before gymnastics. She’s been asking to be signed up for gymnastics for the last few months and I had been putting it off until we had Dylan’s hockey schedule for the summer.  She finally had her first class last week and she couldn’t love it more! Her teacher was impressed with how well she did having never done gymnastics before and the pep never left her step for the whole hour. She’s been SO excited to go back and is counting down the days to Thursday, otherwise known as gymnastics day!

I’ve been trying really hard to up my style game this spring (more on that another time) and will be sharing more mama fashion here on on the blog.  So I thought I’d kick it off with this fun wish list for a few fun summer pieces for mama.

blue striped shirt | cover-up | pajama top| pajama shorts | earrings | bag

I’ve been trying really hard to break out of my black t-shirt rut and really love these Madewell shirts.  They come in a handful of colors, they fit really well and look super cute and put together with both jeans and shorts.  A new staple in my closet for sure.  I love this blue and white stripe for summer!  It’s so cute with both denim and white denim, a new favorite!

I always love a fun swim cover-up and these pom-poms add just the right amount of fun to this otherwise classic cover up.  Cover-ups are a place in my wardrobe I like to add a little more fun than I would in my regular clothing.

I really need new pajamas and this cute cherry set is perfect for summer!  I really like that they are cute enough to wear around the house without being self-conscious that you’re in pajamas.

The double disk earrings are a fun change from traditional hoops or studs and go with so many things this summer.  They also some in gold and rose gold.

I really love this bag!  The color is the perfect golden brown, it has a cross body strap and the cinched top gives it a little more interest.  This is the medium size, it also comes in a larger size and in black.

FRIDAY FAVORITES

Happy Friday!  This is the last Friday of school for my kids before school’s out for the summer. This school year went by so fast! I can’t believe it’s already almost over but I’m excited for all of the fun summer adventures ahead.

Friday Favorites

I’ve been on the lookout for some nail polish for the summer.  I tried the Essie Gel Couture nail polish this week and so far it’s my new favorite. It’s the next best thing to a salon gel manicure. The nail polish brush is large and makes applying it evenly to your nails a breeze, it dries quickly and the top coat is super shiny which I love.

For sandal ready feet, The Honest Company’s healing balm is still my secret weapon.  You can read my thoughts on it here.

I flew back home last week and picked up The Woman in Cabin 10 at the airport to read on the plane. It’s such a good book and should be on your summer reading list for sure!

It’s no secret I love shopping small for Lexi and Peyper Kids is getting ready to release their summer collection.  It’s all incredibly cute and perfect for all of your summer adventures.

MAKING A HOUSE A HOME WITH MINTED ART

This post contains affiliate links. That means if you click on a link and make a purchase from the site, I will earn a small commission from the sale. I’ve received compensation for this post. All content and opinions are my own.

It’s hard to believe we’ve been in our new home for almost a year now and so many of our walls still need something hanging on them.  When we were building, I looked through Minted’s art selection dreaming of the days when the house would be done and we could decorate each room.  Almost a year later, we’re ready to finish decorating our house and I am more than ready to make our house a home using art from Minted.

I love that I can shop for pieces for every room in our home in one place.  From the kids bathroom to our living room, Minted Art has something for everyone and every room in the house.  And believe me, we need something for (almost) every room in the house!

I absolutely LOVE this (affiliate link)  parrot and really want to find a place for him in our house.  I think he would be a fun addition to the kids bathroom.

Hello Cocky! Art Print

Our breakfast nook has a large window that looks out into the back yard.  I want to put a fiddle fig tree in the corner on one side and how fun is (affiliate link) this picture for the other?  Literally perfect for the place we eat all of our meals.

Zuma Beach Malibu No. 7 Art Print

Our main floor bathroom has been begging for some color and personality since we moved in.  I’ve always envisioned something simple like (affiliate links) this or this in the bathroom.

Palm Lean Domino Non-custom Art Print

Balboa Park Art Print

However, I have really fallen in love with (affiliate link) this which ties in the blues from our living room.

If you haven’t shopped Minted Art, you should really check it out.  I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

SPRING FOR CHARITY 2017

I just realized I never shared last year’s Spring for Charity pictures and thought I’d share them before posting our 2018 Spring for Charity pictures.  One of our favorite local photographers, Marriott Photography, offers the cutest spring sessions ever as a charity event.  2017 was our second year doing it, you can see 2016’s session here, and the kids were SO excited to participate again.  Dylan especially LOVES this event.  The more chicks the better.  Lexi, still isn’t so sure about animals but thanks to the magic of photoshop, we were able to get one of her too.
